Les Johnson saw a guy in the original & famous BEYOND club in London who looked great dressed as a cowboy. Just at the time of Brokeback Mountain Film.
Tall Sexy Cool Muscular, he was amongst some other 'Cowboys'' who were on a night out after a house party - Hence the not so fancy but captivating and sexy outfits.
I'll leave the story there... :) But suffice to say that’s where The Cowboy Party was born.
Les was going to start it off as a house party but the idea of the theme spread and we ended up with over 300 Cowboys.
This allowed Les to take over some of the best dance floors that weekend.
Hugh Stevenson & Pier Morocco DJ'd at a private party in the basement of Barcode in Soho London. Then we went on to Vauxhall (300 Cowboys on a tube train - wow!) Where Juicy had just started in Fire Nightclub. Andrew Harris the promoter designed our very own Flyer for the night which allowed all the Cowboys to Party on to Beyond, Later and then Orange. A whole 24hrs of Clubbing.
Suffice to say this was the birth of The Cowboy Party.

What started as Les noticing this sexy Cowboy turned out to be the birth of one of the sexiest parties London has seen. If you’re going to dress up to go out - dress sexy!! And a club full of sexy cowboys seemed to do the trick :)

BLEND it, squeeze it, mix it – whatever which way, we love Juicy. Unquenchable funky house thirsts were satisfied by the one and only Paul Heron and his co-star in the mix Rob Sykes who squeezed out tune after tune, endlessly refreshing the main floor. Latino’s and Butch Brits fought it out to the sounds of Hugh Stevenson, shirts off to a sea of pec perfection. Every way we turned, and at every torso and sexy face we clocked, we instantly fell in love ala Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal! So many guys on the dance floor were sporting Brokeback Mountain headgear and shooting sexy glances, that it was as if we had wandered into the ‘go gay corral’! Glittered Go Go Boys gyrated on podiums, while Magimix DJ Danny MacDonald played out American trance tribal sounds in the men- only underground lounge. Severino and Brent Nicholls spun us further into fantasy with funky electro madness. Refreshing, re-hydrated sexiness!
